OUR VISION and MISSION

The 'Homeless Advocacy Rescue Center' (HARC) developed in 2014 (and established in 2018) is a non-profit community service program with a network of community advocate leaders: Churches, resource organizations, government agencies, and healthcare providers to assist with social support opportunities to the homeless in the areas of education, service, and skills, which are needed to improve the increasing epidemic conditions of homelessness in central Ohio. HARC’s program framework consists of identifying expert-driven healthcare leaders, community advocates, professionals, volunteers, and educators who are specialized in various fields of mental illness, social work, job assistance, education, skill development, along with public assistance resources.
The homeless population consists of the youth, individuals, elderly, veterans, and families from all walks of life who have become an important topic of discussion for positive community change initiatives because this growing population continues to be at an economic disadvantage. HARC continues to research the full spectrum of the social systems to determine the best supportive resources to transition this population from social exclusion to inclusion. Although government laws, research studies, and agencies have primarily focused on the conditioning results of preventive measures, what effective intervention developments have been put into practice to combat this increasing crisis in America? Are the existing agencies such as non-profits, for profit organizations, and social systems receiving adequate funding to continue to support homelessness? How are these entities able to diffuse this ever-increasing economic crisis considering the economic downturns? We at HARC look forward to joining this cause to work with organizations to continue the mission as an advocate for immediate community services for the homeless population, which also consists of those released from prison. Jeremiah 17:14
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increased strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
